Total Wealth View is an account aggregation service which allows
you to view all types of accounts in one place, using a single password. It is available
from any PC connected to the Internet. You can organize all of your assets and
liabilities into a simple net worth statement that is updated automatically
with current online information. You can also track offline information such as
the value of your home, cars and personal properties. This service gives you
one-click access to all of your on-line accounts 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
You will be able to monitor and organize the following items online:
Stanford has contracted with Parsam
Technologies to provide this service to our clients using Parsam’s uMonitor
product.
Convenience. Here are a few of the features people like most
about Account Aggregation:
Yes. Total Wealth View
uses an invisible pop-up box to track your time using the system so you do need
to allow pop-ups.
You can disable the pop-up
blocker for Total Wealth View by clicking on the Alert box in the upper left
corner and choosing “Always Allow
Pop-ups from this Site…”.
You should only have to change this setting once and
it will save for all future logins.
User ID - the login name selected or provided by the
institution when setting up an online account.
Monitor - A monitor is a group of
information that the Account Aggregation service will retrieve for you. For
example the Finance Monitor will allow you to retrieve credit union, bank, and
brokerage information. The Email Monitor will allow you to retrieve email from
your internet or POP email accounts. The Weather Monitor will let you see the
weather in your favorite cities. Many other monitors are available in the
system to provide you with a wealth of information at your fingertips.
View - One page of monitors is called a View. Views
are useful to create personal pages of account information. For example, you
can have a view called My View and set up your personal accounts.
If you monitor accounts for your parents or children you can set
up another view called “Parents” that has all of their accounts on it. If you
own a business, you might want to have a view for your business accounts
separate from your personal accounts. Or you can have a view with financial
monitors and another view non-financial monitors like email, weather and news.
Account - An account is your
relationship with a particular company or financial institution. You must have
an online User ID and password for each account you want to add to a monitor.
For offline accounts you will not have User Id and you will enter your
information manually.
Institution - This is your credit
union, brokerage, ISP or other company for which you have online account
access.
1. Start by clicking on the modify button located in the top right corner of the
specific monitor you wish to modify.
2. Find the institution in the list or use the search
box by entering a portion of the name and hitting the Go button. Click on the
institution name to proceed.
3. Enter the requested account information. This
is usually the user name and password you use to access your account at the
institution. Remember: you must already have your online access set up at the
institution
4. Select the Add button.
5. Select the Update button.
6. The monitor should display the institution
specific data. If the institution has “Not Updated” displayed, click the
refresh button .
If the institution still does not display the data after you refresh, verify
the data you supplied. If after verifying and refreshing again, it still does
not update, please use the Contact Us or
button to report the problem.
If a site or institution you wish to monitor is not listed you
may request that the site be added. With the institution list there is a
"Search" option to search for the institution by name. If you still
do not find the institution, press the "Can
If you are unsure of which monitor to use make your best guess
and look for the institution you wish to add in the list. If you do not find it
and you are on the MyView or other monitors list, go to the Networth view by
either selecting Networth from the “Views” drop down or clicking the icon on the Networth monitor. Select an
account type from the “Add an online account” drop down. This will allow you to
search for the institution in “All Account Types”. You will then see the
institution displayed under the monitor type. Select the desired institution
and proceed with setup. The institution will display in the monitor it was
listed under when you selected it.
If you still do not find the institution, you may request that
the site be added. With the institution list there is a "Search"
option to search for the institution by name. If you still do not find the
institution, press the "Can
Typically you gather information from online accounts in your
Finance Monitor, Credit Card Monitor or other online monitors. However, there
may be some financial information that may not be available online but you wish
to track with your aggregated information. The Offline Monitor allows you to
track any financial information that is important to you but not available
online, such as the value of your home, automobiles, and personal or business
properties, etc. You can track any of these assets or liabilities in the Offline
Monitor by manually entering and updating them there. All Offline data can also
be included in your Networth financial view.
Accounts get added to the monitor and view you are working in at
the time you add the account. To add an account to a view/monitor, click the icon at the top of the monitor, look in the “Other
available accounts” box, select the account you would like to add and click the
button, to move the account into the “Accounts
in this monitor“ box. Click Update and you should now see the account in your
monitor.
If you have added an account, but do not see the value reflected
on the Networth Financial View, first be sure that the account is updating by
going to the MyView page and viewing the account in the appropriate monitor
(probably the Finance Monitor). Verify that the account is showing a value. If
it does not, see the topic below: “What do I do if my account is not
updating?”. If the account is updating, go to the Networth Financial View by
either selecting Networth from the “Views” drop down or clicking the icon on the Networth Monitor, then click the
Classify Accounts button. Check to see if the account has a red X to the left
identifying it as being excluded from the Networth view. If it does, you can
click Modify and check the “Select to include in Household Networth” box. Also,
verify that the Ownership Type and Owners are correct. Click update and that
should resolve your issue.
If your account shows
“Not Updated” or by looking at the date you see it has not updated in several
days, simply click the refresh button for the monitor. If that does not correct the problem, look
for a message at the bottom of that account section that may indicate the
reason. For errors indicating that the user name and password could not access
your account, verify that the user name and password for the institution
exactly matches what you have entered in Total Wealth View. If you update the password
at your institution you must also update it in Total Wealth View. To
verify/update your account, click the
on the monitor, click the account that is not updating
and then click Edit. Verify the user name and re-enter the correct password. If
the institution requires security questions, verify that these exactly match
what you have selected for the institution. Click Update and Update again and
you will return to the Default View page. If you continue to have problems,
please submit a support email by clicking Contact Us or the
button to report the problem.
Most of your monitored account information will be automatically
updated once per day. You can see the date and time an account was last updated
listed under the account name. If you do not see this information, you may need
to click the Expand button. To initiate an immediate update
of the data for a particular account, click on the Refresh icon
that
directly follows the "As of" date and time for that account. You may
also refresh all accounts in a particular monitor by clicking on the Refresh
icon in the upper right corner of the monitor you wish to update.
When modifying a view or changing other settings in this service you will see
an Update button ,
you must click this button to save your changes.
Favorites-Fast-Login allows you to add Favorites to a drop down
list, much like that in your web browser. However, when you set your favorite
in this service, you can also store your User ID and password for the site.
When you select one of your Favorites-Fast-Login sites, it automatically logs
you in using the User ID and password you have set. This becomes your vault of
all your User IDs and Passwords and it is available to you anywhere you have
access to the Internet.
The buttons at the top of each monitor are there to make that
monitor easy to use.
This is the modify button which allows you to add new accounts
to the monitor, modify settings on your existing accounts, or delete accounts.
This is the refresh button. Most of
your monitored accounts will be automatically updated once per day. You can see
the date and time an account was last updated listed under the account name. To
refresh all accounts in a particular monitor click the Refresh icon in the
upper right corner of the monitor you wish to update.
Collapse,
Expand
- The collapse/expand buttons
toggle of and on depending on whether the monitor is collapsed or expanded. The
collapse button is useful when monitors get very lengthy. This button allows
you to temporarily collapse the detail for the monitor into just a header. The expand button returns the monitor to full
height.
The accounts you monitor will have either "Login" or
"Auto Login" next to the account name. When you add a new account the
system will detect the technology that is being used to submit the User ID and
password. Whenever possible the service will enable the Auto Login feature. If
the institution website does not meet certain technical specifications to
perform Auto Login, you are offered the Login feature.
What does that mean? When hovering over the Login button next to an account name, you will see a text
box pop up stating either Auto Login or Login. If the text box says Auto Login,
you will be automatically logged in to that account on the provider’s website.
If the text box says Login, clicking that link will bring you to the sign in page
for that provider, but you must provide the User ID and Password.
1. When you are on a View page (for example My
View), in the Options drop down, click on Modify Views.
2. Type the name of the new view that you would
like to add in the View Title box, select the monitors from the default list,
and click the "Create View" button.
3. The new view is now added to the Edit/Delete
View section and you can modify it, rename it or delete it from there.
In the Options drop down, select and click on Change
Layout. There are three sections on this
page: Change Layout, Edit Monitor and Add New Monitor.
Change Layout:
Move a Monitor to a new column
Move a Monitor up or down in the column
Add a New Monitor
Edit a Monitor
Note: Once you have made
all of the changes to the View click the update button in the "Change
Layout" section near the top of the page.
1. Login to Total Wealth View account.
2. On the Options drop down, select Change
Profile.
3. Select Unsubscribe.
4. Enter your User ID and Password as requested
and click Unsubscribe.
5. Please notify your financial advisor that you
will no longer be using this service.
Caution:
If you unsubscribe, all of your aggregation settings are lost. This does not
affect any of your other online accounts that you may have aggregated.
Your session will terminate and your information remains secure.
When Total Wealth View identifies a 20 minute time span with no
activity, it will prompt you to see if you are still using the site.
If you do not select “Continue” within 2 minutes of being
prompted, the system automatically logs you out. Logging you out after 20
minutes of inactivity protects your data from authorized access.
If you use the Account Nicknames feature of your Internet
Banking the names contain special placeholder characters that may show up as symbols
in the account name on Total Wealth View. This does not affect the data
displayed. To eliminate the symbols, log in to your Internet Banking and remove
your Account Nicknames.
If you see display problems with another account that you monitor, please click
on the "Contact Us" button, provide the institution name and describe
the problem in detail. Most problems are corrected within 5-7 business days.
The system stops the auto update feature for all of the monitors
if you have not logged in to Total Wealth View for 5 consecutive days. You can
manually refresh your monitors after logging in or the system will resume the
auto update the next day after you have logged in.
Total Wealth View will
stop trying to access any account after two unsuccessful tries to prevent you from
getting locked out of that account. In this instance, you will receive a
message indicating the user name and password supplied could not access your
account. To verify/update your account, click the on the monitor, click the account that is not
updating and then click Edit. Verify the user name and re-enter the correct
password. If the institution requires security questions, verify that these
exactly match what you have selected for the institution. Click Update and
Update again and you will return to the Default View page. If you continue to
have problems, please submit a support email by clicking Contact Us or the
button to report the problem.
If the account is
experiencing technical problems the service tries to access the account a few
hours later, if it is not accessible on the second attempt, the service will
wait to update until the next day. The user again may manually refresh the
account upon logging in or the system will resume the auto update the next day.
